July 2009 - January 2010Big Valley Pet Resort is a pet boarding facility. I worked both the front desk and the kennels. In the kennel area I was successful at cleaning, walking dogs, supervising play yards, feeding, giving medications, doing laundry, assuring quality control, and seeing to the general comfort and well being of our guests. In the front desk position I made and confirmed reservations, handled check ins and check outs, dealt well with clients, answered phones, made grooming appointments, kept daily notes, cared for cats and exotic pets, kept computer information and charts up to date, created new client charts, oversaw medications and other special needs, and gave special attention to pets who were new and fearful. When a dog was frightened and others could not get close, they often called on me to help. My experience there was invaluable and extremely enjoyable. I expect I would have stayed there forever, but it was time to move back to where my family is, 2000 miles away.
